The Current Problem...

Many riders are taught to fix contact through the reins.

They are taught to adjust the head, shorten the neck, or to forcefully "put the horse on the bit".

But contact is not created in the hand.

It is the result of correct positioning, alignment and energy in the body.

When the correct foundation of contact and connection is misunderstood and not curated, the rider begins to pull.

The horse resists, shortens, or disconnects.

The cycle of forcing the horse then continues.

Contact and a correct connection to the rider's hand is critical to the development of further training.

What This Course is...

This course is a structured study of contact and connection within the framework of classical riding.

It is designed to clarify:

  • What contact actually is

  • What is truly meant by "on the bit"

  • Where it comes from, really

  • Why it becomes inconsistent

  • How it is developed correctly over time
